Today’s workout provides a solid transition as we move from a weightlifting month into a testing month. We have a relatively moderate to heavy barbell we can test our capacity with. However, in today’s workout, you are going to have to earn that heavier weight.
We are looking to perform at least 7 unbroken repetitions every time we pick up the bar. Singles are not appropriate today. Consider a rep scheme like 8-7-5 on the set of 21 or 6-5-4 on the set of 15. These descending sets of reps may help you get through the sets more quickly and effectively. If necessary, scale the loading of the barbell so you can meet today’s stimulus.
As for the run, we are looking to complete each run in 2:15 or less. Athletes who are looking for a faster time on today’s workout should push these runs as fast as possible. We will talk about adjusting the distance of the run in the warm-up for athletes who have trouble with the 2:15 domain.
