Target | Build to a 1-rep max back squat
This week’s heavy day is an opportunity to build to a new 1-rep max back squat!
With the higher volume workout we’ll see tomorrow, today is a good day to slow down and dedicate the entire class to heavy lifting.
There are 10 sets total in this workout. You’ll complete one set every 3:00.
You’ll lift 5-reps and 3-reps for the first 5 sets. The goal is to build to a heavy set of 5 and 3 here but to leave room to have gone heavier on those sets.
Focus on lowering with control and standing with speed on every set today to prime the body to move fast during the heavy singles.
You will partner up into groups of 2 or 3 to share a barbell. Plan to build in load in similar increments to expedite the load-changing process.
